The day started with swimming laps in the pool for Joel and the treadmill for Susan.....at 5:30 am since we are still on east coast time and breakfast wasn't served until 6. Then the meeting where we were instructed not to poke sharp things in our hands and your neighbors. And to remember that this opportunity to serve is NOT ABOUT US.
Here is our little corner of the clinic. The organizers were kind and gave us a nice chair and plenty of room to move around. They were hoping we would be less cranky and they were right.
The rest of the clinic ( just the dental section ). I just realized that we are not even on the court! Where the bench would be.
Just one of our 16 patients we treated today. He is smiling, but we are not sure why. We also went almost the entire day without a translator. We are not sure if the youth understand us but then, the patients at home don't understand and they speak English .....
Picture of the church building from the outside. Got home around 9 pm after 12 hours in the clinic. Worth every moment.
